Helen Scanlon is a senior lecturer and course convenor for the Justice and Transformation Programme, Department of Political Studies at the University of Cape Town and has worked extensively as both an academic and practitioner in issues surrounding transitional justice. Dr Scanlon currently holds additional positions as a research fellow at Kings College London; a visiting Professor at the Stanford University’s Overseas Study Programme; and teaches for the Council on International Educational Exchanges (CIEE) Cape Town Global Institute.

CARL CAPITAINE - RESEARCH COORDINATOR & PODCAST HOST

Carl Capitaine is an MPhil Candidate in the Justice and Transformation program at the University of Cape Town. Approaching concerns around transitional justice from a decolonial queer feminist vantage point, they strive to intersect systematic human rights violations with the lived experiences of the black queer body in times of peace and conflict. In Prioritizing the role of non-normative gender identities and sexual orientations, the hope is to highlight the silences around queer violence in the binary world of gender and transitional justice.

LUVANO NTULI - RESEARCH COORDINATOR & PODCAST HOST

Luvano Ntuli holds an Honours degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT), specialising in Justice and Transformation, and is currently reading for her MPhil in the same specialisation. She has worked as a teaching assistant in the Political Studies Department at UCT as well as a researcher for the newly formed Africa Justice and Transformation Network. Her research interests have been primarily around decolonising transitional justice. She is currently working as an Investigations Intern at Open Secrets.

Roxy Jones holds an Honours degree in Curatorship from the University of Cape Town and specialises in Linguistics. She is currently an MPhil candidate in Digital Curation and a curatorial research assistant at the Centre for Curating the Archive at UCT.
